There are two types of licensing: fixed (node locked) and floating (concurrent). If you've got a fixed license, you copy the file to your machine and set the PTC_D_LICENSE_FILE to point to that file....

I'm not sure what tags you have available in your DTD/Schema. Is it DITA? There may also be a way to insert processing instructions into the file to control this behaviour, but I don't have Editor...
